Youth Organization for Building African Communities

Creating Opportunities for Education, Growth, and Independence

Changing Refugee Lives

At YOBAC, we believe in the transformative power of education and opportunity. Founded by African youth with firsthand refugee experience, YOBAC is a volunteer-driven, non-profit organization based in Uganda and the DRC. We are committed to creating a future where refugees and marginalized communities have access to the tools they need to build stable, independent lives.

Who We Are

YOBAC was created to support African refugees, drawing on the experiences of those who have lived through displacement. Our work is rooted in collaboration with refugees and local communities to create lasting solutions that promote dignity and empowerment. We believe in a future where individuals not only survive but thrive in their communities, with the opportunity to achieve their full potential.

What We Do

We focus on three key areas to drive meaningful change:

  • Education & Resilience Building: Providing quality education and leadership programs that empower both children and adults, nurturing resilience and personal growth.

  • Vocational Skills & Entrepreneurship: Offering practical training in skills like tailoring, soap-making, and small-scale agribusiness to create sustainable income opportunities and financial independence.

  • Empowerment & Mentorship: Supporting refugees with mentorship and community engagement to help them build the skills, confidence, and resources necessary to succeed.

Our Impact

Through a diverse range of community-led initiatives, we support refugees in rebuilding their lives with dignity and independence. By prioritizing long-term solutions over short-term aid, we help create opportunities for education, economic stability, and self-reliance. Working hand in hand with local communities, we empower individuals with the tools and knowledge to shape their own futures.
