Kindergarten & Primary School - Uganda

YOBAC operates a Kindergarten and Primary School in the Kyangwali refugee settlement, serving over 700 children, and was founded to address overcrowded public schools and a lack of educational resources. In addition to providing quality education, the school focuses on child protection and equips students with digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills for a brighter future.

Vocational Skills & Entrepreneurship - Uganda

YOBAC empowers women and youth by providing skills training in tailoring, soap-making, basket weaving, and small-scale agribusiness to create diverse income opportunities. Through financial literacy and microenterprise development, the organization promotes entrepreneurship and economic self-sufficiency, strengthening community resilience.

Violence Against Children (VAC) - Uganda

Violence against children is a significant human rights issue in Uganda, especially in refugee communities, where children face risks like forced labor, early marriage, and abuse. YOBAC’s VAC program, in partnership with the Children’s Rights and Violence Prevention Fund (CRVPF), works to end violence against children by promoting education, psychosocial support, and community-based protection mechanisms, creating safer environments for children to thrive.

Agriculture - Uganda

YOBAC supports young people and women in agriculture by providing training, capacity building, and financial support, focusing on sustainable farming techniques to enhance food security. The program promotes vertical farming, organic fertilizers, and drought-resistant seeds, empowering refugee families to grow their own food and reduce dependence on external aid in densely populated settlements.

Community-Led Education & Resilience Building - Uganda

YOBAC empowers women as community trainers to share valuable knowledge on nutrition, financial management, and climate-smart agriculture with fellow refugees. Through mentorship and workshops, YOBAC supports the well-being and education of refugees, encouraging youth to stay in school and pursue sustainable career paths.

YOBAC is working to open a Kindergarten and Primary School in the Democratic Republic of Congo, addressing the challenges of limited access, poor infrastructure, and the effects of conflict on education. The initiative focuses on supporting orphans of war with school materials and providing digital literacy, entrepreneurship, and leadership skills to help them build a better future.

Violence Against Children (VAC) - DRC

YOBAC is expanding its VAC program to the DRC, advocating for children’s rights and protection in a region affected by violence, displacement, and instability. In collaboration with partners, YOBAC is strengthening child protection policies, improving access to education and healthcare, and providing psychosocial support to help mitigate the effects of conflict, exploitation, and COVID-19 on vulnerable children.

Sexual & Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) - DRC

YOBAC is addressing the rise of sexual and gender-based violence (SGBV) in the DRC by raising awareness, providing youth training, and fostering community engagement to reduce violence against women and girls. The organization also supports survivors through micro-credit programs and vocational training, empowering women to regain financial independence and rebuild their lives.

Agriculture - DRC

YOBAC is supporting young people in the DRC by providing training, resources, and financial support to promote sustainable agriculture. By equipping youth with farming techniques and business skills, YOBAC strengthens local food production and fosters economic self-sufficiency.
